Seoke Nakahashi is an illustrator from Odawara, Japan—a coastal city that gives rise to her expressive nature and creative sensitivities. As a young girl, she spent the afternoons following her studies hanging around the docks of the fishing port sketching the abundant life that was to be found there.
From seagulls and leaping fish to the hardened and weathered fishermen and dockworkers, she perfected her “scratchy” pen and ink style that attracted our attention.
Part of her appeal for us was the swirling, active element that seemed to capture the energy of The Beatles—both as a group and as distinct individuals. When we commissioned her to create a series of images, we knew we would be able to present to our community a fresh expression through the unique cultural viewpoint of Seoke’s talented pen.
We weren’t disappointed and we believe you will not only appreciate her fine art, but also soak in the energy of these four creative geniuses that contributed so much to our world.
