Elme Fertaire resettled in Gainesville, Florida from his native Portugal in order to pursue his education and dip his toe into the commercial art world. Post-graduation, he was able to assume a position as an art director at a national advertising agency where, over the years, he has had a hand in major advertising campaigns.
Although in his day job he directs other artists, for Beatle.com he went back to his roots to create some illustrations for our Community. We asked him to do some simple drawings that captured the impishness of the Fab Four and he nailed it. From John’s iconic newsboy cap to Paul’s casually wrapped scarf, each figure is depicted perfectly and with a minimum number of strokes.
Sometimes simple is brilliant and this is a great example of that.
